What is blogging? well before taking this class, honestly i thought bloggers were just a bunch of fucking idiots who had more than enough time on their hands to write gay comments like "first bitches" or "first" or first in many other variations underneath news articles, videos or other forms of intercative media that can be found on the net. It was like everysite where you can read an article about musci lets say, there would be an in depth article writen by a journalist who probably went to school and got a degree and used his wisdom and knowledge of the english language to present the people an article. Then write underneath it you might see a comment that says Blink182 sucks...WTF! it's so completely random and irrelevant that you ask yourself why do they even allow people to blog.
But then after taking this course and participating in blogs (here and there lol), blogging can be somewhat interesteing. Aside from the morons who are either posting their myspace site a thousandtimes looking for publicity
ex. myspace.com/yourname,myspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yourname
Or the ones who have nothing (in my opinion ofcourse) significant to say about the topic, where else can you participate in a world wide debate about some of your favorite issues?? i dont care how many friends you have, and i mean flesh and bones not myspace or facebook lol, where else can you and hundred possibly thousands of people share their opinions on who is the best dunker in the NBA or should rhianna and crib brown get back together, or whats the best engine to put in a 1996 honda accord and so on, I think you get my drift.
Yes the interent is full of garbage and always will be, but isn't the library also? dont they have books in the library on how to build paper planes, something that no one cares about. Blogginh is almost the same concept.
There is one site that i go on a lot a lot a lot! It's called worldstarhiphop.com and it is basically a controlled video posting site where anything funny entertaining or plain ridiculaus can be posted on relating to hiphop and the hiphop society in general (no this doesn't mean just gangster rap music, hip hop is a way of life for those who do not know) and when i first used to watch it and read the comments it would be like no name rappers trying to promote thier myspace or people arguing with eachother about who's city is better and why their rapper will beat the shit out o anyone... in other words a lot of ignorant bull. But sometimes you actually get bloggers who kow whta they are talking about and can offer you vital, useful, or just entertaining information that you may never have known. And that right there ladies and gentlemen ins the beauty of blogging. When i can go onto Knickerbloggers and read stats from the NY game i missed last week AND randomly find out Nate robinson's stats from highschool that a blogger may have posted (fictional example for dramatic purposes only lol). That's what blogging offeres you.
The problem i have most with blogging i must say is the "guest" blogging. When you dont have to register to a site in order to blog, This bothers me becasue you cant control who is blogging ignorant crap or just promoting their myspace pages. Atleast if everyone had to sign in and ohers noticed that they are not blogging then we could file complaints on the user and eventualy get their blogging privlages revoked, but hey what can i do about it.
Also while blogging, i found it easier to just blog about things that you like, feel strongly about, or have on your mind. In the begginging of the semester we had to make a blog prospectus which i completely understant to help us start off and keep us on track. So, i decided to write about sports. Then a couple weeks into it, not sure if anyone noticed or cared, i realized that sports gets really boring to write about when you are not getting paid for it lol. If anyone wants updates on sports (scores stats results) then i doubt they would want to read my page, they could just click the ESPN link on my page. Slowly i started blogging about whatever i had on my mind when i sat down infront the computer.
Sometimes it consisted of sports, like my TO blog or AROD blog and sometimes of things in my life, like my car being crashed blog. I ahve to say i really prefere just wrting whatever comes to the mind. Their are only so many stories i could put my opinion onto when it comes to sports other than that it's usualy black and white and already taled about on one of the numerous sports sites...fownews, espn, sportscenter etc...
Blogging has actually became more fun then expected. Though i dont have interent at my apartment yet, wheneever i catch myself reading something online or watching highlights or checking scores or reading articles, i alwasy find myself clicking the comments link and wondering what others had to say about the issue!!

As it comes to an end
Sadly, after a week off from school, i have nothing exciting to write about! A week spent picking up extra shifts at work during the day and writing papers at night. A week with sporatic and spontaneous trips to the beach (an activity that can be done at any giving time during the year in Florida) with friends is about as exciting as it got for me.
Living in Florida is like living on one long never ending boring ass spring break. It's always hot, it's always sunny and as soon as it hits 65 degree weather, people find their way out to clearwater and st. pete. So, this year i decided not to drive to Daytona for the week or spend the weekend down in Miami like previous years. The decision was more so based on my financial situation, but over all was a mutual decision between me and my wallet.
Im not knocking spring break at all, no that's the last thing i would do. In the words of Asher Roth, "I love college." College is the grasp of time that falls between the complete freedom of childhood and the dreaded responsibilities of Adulthood. So go out there and get f***ed up on wednesday nights for a dollar and party every thursday night when ladies get in free and enjoy every single milisecond of it because when it's over it's over. Fortunatley i made some extra cash running up and down a parking garage all week, and saved up enough to hopefully fix my car by april. I hope everyone enjoyed their break and welcome back.

A shark Never Sleeps
The name of an autobiography written by Drew Rosenhaus, Terel Owens "super agent," that describes the man very well.
As most of us know, T.O has now created bad blood in his 3rd NFL team and has been cut once again. This time from the Dallas Cowboys. Apparently there isn't a Quarterback in the league talented enough for Mr. Owens. But this story is not about T.O, no. We all know abut Terrel and his bad attitude, amazing talents, ideal physical shape and his forever running mouth. This blog is about is agent Rosenhaus.
This guy is a genious. Who knows how he does it but he always seems to get the leagues least wanted reciever a job, and with a raise on top of that. According to FOXSPORTs writter Mark Kriegel, Rosenhaus was able to find T.O a job in Buffalo WITH and 800,000 dollar pay raise, not even 72 hours after being cut from Dallas. RosenHaus worked the same magic nearly 4 years ago when T.O was cut by the Eagles, landing him a spot in Dallas 4 days later at 3yr/$25Mill.
Buffalo essentially has nothing to loose signing T.O. i mean if he does great and has a break out season the sky could be the limit. And if not o well they suck anyway.

Who's side are you on?
Born in New York, favorite team growing up was the New York Mets, lived in Miami, educated at the University of Miami, and is currently payed by the New York Yankees (and couple other American teams), and despite all these American statistics Alex Rodriguez chose to play for the Dominican Republics national team a few years ago. This may not be important to anyone’s life or to sports in general but since A-rod has been in the news lately I thought it was interesting that this year he will be playing for the United Sates, which only makes sense to me honestly. You were born and bread here, educated here and you making your living here (10 year $275 mill most in MLB history) it’s only right that you show some loyalty to your country and play for the team.
What does anyone think of A-Rod since his steroid controversy? Is he still the greatest Baseball player to play the game? Are all of his many accomplishments still holding weight or do they mean less now that we know he juiced up and had advantages? Just curios to know your opinions.

Driving + Texting = CRASH!!!!
I forget who's blog I read earlier in the semester about that unique breed of drivers who feel the necessity to multi task behind the wheel. I think it was in an in class assigment that we had to correct actually, but that's besides the point. What I am trying to get at is that my girlfriend belongs to that breed and tonight i suffered the consequences of her distracted actions.
Im sitting in the library passing time waiting for my 6:00 class to start when I recieve a phone call from what sounded like a danzel in distress. Sobbing, chocking and crying is all that i could make out on the other end of the line. After repeating "hello baby" almost 5 times, I finally heard from what i could make out through the tears and sobs, "Baby....(sob sob)....mad....(sob sob) your car!" Though i didn't hear a damn thing she said i just put one and one AND one lol together; she has my car, she can not drive, and she is balling. She got in an accident.
At first i was panicing because i thought it was major and i knew she also had my brother in the car, but after talking to her and eventually talking to my brother, who was extreamly calm like he always is, i realized they were fine.
My brother had to speak on her behalf becasue she couldn't controll her crying. Basically she rear ended a SUV during rush hour. My car being a civic ofcourse got smashed and the SUV (literaly guys no joke) walked away with nothing but surfacew damage, not even a dent!
Well come to find out that the reason she ended up driving my car into the back of an SUV is because of a CELL PHONE. SHe was replying to an incoming text and while she briefly looked down, traffic had come to a stop and consequently she couldn't stop in time. It only takes that 1 second of diverting your time from the road to something else to end up in an accident. Thank God that nobody was hurt, but this is just another testimony on how dangerous it is to text and drive. It left me carless.

Big things in Small packages
This blog is about a little guy who plays with a lot of heart, Nate Robinson. Nate is a 5'8 profesional basketball player in the NBA who plays for the New York Knicks. Despite the talent that New York posses (but does not execute properly), Nate is arguably the best player on the team and recently he has been doing an excellent job proving so.
Nate Robinson is our Modern day Spud Webb standing well under 6 foot and still able to compete with the world's greastest basketball players. His recent string of success was sparked off All Star weekend after he brought home the Slam dunk championship de-throwning the great Dwight Howard but jumping over super man(Howard) dressed in all all green symbolizing Kryptonite (superman's weekness). It was amazing! Since then, in his last 5 of 7 games he has averaged over 30 points a game and is shooting 51% from the field. If this 5'8 point guard from Washington still hasn't amazed you with those numbers i have one more piece of information; he did all this coming off the bench every night! Talk about a supporting role.
Another notable achievement Nate has done was participate and win the 2006 dunk contest. This has nothing to do with his recent success since the all star break this year but i have included a link where u can see him perform some incredible dunks, including jumping over hall of famer Spud Webb, who i mentioned ealier that Nate's game most resembles. He knows how to put on a show.
P.S for all those Knick fans out there (which is probably no one in class) you willl be happy to know if you havne't already seen it on sports center that Marbury has finally been bought out his contract and will no longer continue to f**k the knicks over with his bat attitude, bad chemistry, over paid salary that pushes the cap and all the other distractions he brought to the team. Amazing player, please dont get me wrong, but we just dont need you in New York. So long Stephone.

Vick for Sale!
He did the crime and did the time. So, what is next in Michael Vicks future?
If you were curled up under a rock, have no access to cable television, or you have never seen CNN a day in your life, Michael Vick is a former NFL player of the Atlanta Falcons and was Indicted in the summer of 2007 for running illegal dog fights.
Along with being sentenced for two years in prison, not jail but prison people, Vick also lost/missed out on an estimated $100 Million in breaking his contract and dropped endoursments. It was reported that throughout his entire dog fighting operation Vick grossed a whopping $28,000. But by gones are by gones and the day of his release from prison is nearing, and a decision on what is in store for Vick's future in the NFL will be made sooner than later.
According to Gene Wojciechowski, senior editor for ESPN magazine, there are a couple possibilities that Vick is going to have to learn to live with.
First and foremost, we will never again see number 7 play in red and black for the Atlanta Falcons. so the Flacons will either trades him or cut him. Seeing that any team who picks up Vick right now will also be enheriting a contract with almost 45 million left on it, a trade is safe to call imposible. Vick is expected to be released from prison by July and the Falcons will most likely cut him by the end of the summer.
Now to me if i am a general manager of a team this is great news to my ears. This means that i can pick up michael Vick for a quarter of what he is worth, like bargain shopping. Even if you pick him up and put throw him as the second string qb, you still have one hell of a second string now dont you. Hell the man is so fast that you can put him as tail back, wide reciever, slot, and special teams to return kicks. He is extreamly athlectic and versitle. The only downfall is that he hasn't trained for the NFL in over a year and he will be 29 years old this year, but for the price that you will be able to sign him for once the Falcons cut him at the end of the year will be well worth it.
And just for the record for those who think he still has a chance in Atlanta, they picked up qb Matt Ryan in the 3rd overall pick in the draft last year. I think they are going to take there chances with Ryan.

AYO technology
So i was out this afternoon bringing my little brother to circuit city when i remembered, Los Angelas Lakers vs Clevaland Cavalairs at 3:30. There was no way for me to watch the beggining of the match. Then i remember that i was the proup owner of an Apple Iphone. So I turned it on, opened an application called "sportacular" and got up to the second team scores, stats and individual player stats. Its like having ESPN on hand up to the second with out the hassle of the internet. Amazing.
At only 21 years old, i feel like i have seen technology evole though several phases. There isn't anything that i can mention that hasn't seen major inovational changes thoughout my lifetime. I have even seen the rise and fall of many generational advances such as walkmans, portable cd players, two way text messangers and many more.
From phones to televisions, from cameras to automobiles. Technology has taken repid steps, making our lives as convienient and at the reach of our finger tips as possible. One gadget in particular that has really brought the luxury of convienience to my life would be my Apple Iphone.
Literaly with thepush of a button i have acces to news, sports, weather, time, stocks and almost anything else you can think of! I mean there is even an application that you can download that calculates the amount of tip you should leave when eating out. I remember when phones where the size of paper weights and could barely do the basic function of making calls, now they play music, movies and check the temperature in san Diago California.

61 in the garden
http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh7r8iLde59n0V24W2
This is a link to a video showing brief highlight of Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers 61 point performance against the New York Knick in the Garden on Monday night.
With this outstanding performance, Bryant shatters two previous records held in the Garden, Most points scored by an opposing player previously held by the great MJ and Most points scored period held by former Knick Bernard King. He had some offensive support from center Paul Gasol who ended the game with 31 points.
With Andrew Binum out with an injury for the next 8-12 weeks, the preassure to score baskets is now placed back onto Kobe's shoulders. He also went 20/20 from the free throw line.

Superbowl Hype
Well the superbowl is tomorrow and for some reason the hype isn't all what i expected it to be, honestly. For some reason i expected the streets to be flooded with people from out of town and celebs from across the country. I heard on a tlak radio show on thursday that resturants were not getting the high volume of bussiness that the expected and that hotels in the area were still had rooms available. The highlighy anticipated super bowl in Tampa Bay is not living up to the hype in my opinions.
Why is this? Does the economy affect football also? well obviously it does due to the cutting back the NFL has done in jobs around the league for the fact that 3/4 of the teams in the league aren't making enough ticket sales. Teams this year have even faced the fear of their games being blacked out because there wasnt' enough ticket sales to air the game. But, this is not the only reason why. It is true that the cheapest ticket is running for close to 15 hundred and some over a quarter mil, way out the range for the avearage NFL fan, but it's also becasue of the Arizona Cardinals.
Lets be honest, Arizona is just not one of the most marketable teams in the NFL and the fact that they even made it to the super bowl is a bit of an underdog story. Yes they have potential hal of famer Kurt Warner and two dynamic recievers with Bolden and Fitzgerald, but they are the obvious underdog and dont carry a big enough fan base for this to be an amazing super bowl. Sorry Cardinal fans but its been 61 years since you last made it to the Bowl and probably another 60 before you make it again. Good luck on Sunday but the Stealers are walking away champions again.

popping the cherry
For those who weren’t fortunate enough to catch Monday night’s showdown between the two tyrants of their divisions, you missed a good one. Let me start of by confessing that whenever I mention Kobe Bryant and Lebron James in the same conversation I tend to be a little bias.
With both players leading their conference in the race to the playoffs, Lakers 31-8 in the west and Cavs 33-8 in the east, you can say that this was a battle for who is better. Well if not for you, then for me at least.
Not even two minuets into the game, Bryant swipes for the basketball in James’s hands and ends up dislocating his ring finger on his right hand (a similar injury to the torn ligaments he suffered with in his pinky finger last season) but surprisingly played the rest of the game despite the pain and finished with 20 pts 12 assist and 6 rebounds to beat that Cavs 105-88.
Where was the great Lebron when this was going down? You guessed it, guarding the great Kobe Bryant in the fourth quarter and allowing him to take over the game and make circus shots. Lebron shot a 9-25 and had 6 turnovers. Yes he’s great but tonight was not his night. On the upside for Lebron fans, he is still up when it comes to match ups vs. the Lakers 6-4 since he has been drafted. But Monday night goes to Kobe.
This probably doesn’t suit the criteria of a great first blog but that was just a bit of information that I wanted to share before too much time passed and basically it became irrelevant. So thank you for bearing with me and reading through it.
Well this semester you can expect a few more blogs that look similar to this one. I plan on talking about sports a lot, especially when I find myself with writers block and fresh out of ideas. This is officially my first blog, blog experience, blogging community etc so it might take some getting used to as far as keeping up with post and what not, but, so far so good. I want to take this class and this opportunity to really develop a voice and style of writing and use this blogging style and format as a way to better develop my thoughts, and regurgitate then literally more coherently. Well that’s my goal, lets see how good I do at living up to it.
As far as what to expect to be reading, I have decided to Marginalize my thoughts and keep it between music, entertainment, the Lakers (sports), the news and every once in a while I will step outside the box and attempt to jot down my personal thoughts. Key word in that last sentence? Attempt. Well that’s a brief wrap up of what Marginal thoughts is about and if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them.
