What is blogging? well before taking this class, honestly i thought bloggers were just a bunch of fucking idiots who had more than enough time on their hands to write gay comments like "first bitches" or "first" or first in many other variations underneath news articles, videos or other forms of intercative media that can be found on the net. It was like everysite where you can read an article about musci lets say, there would be an in depth article writen by a journalist who probably went to school and got a degree and used his wisdom and knowledge of the english language to present the people an article. Then write underneath it you might see a comment that says Blink182 sucks...WTF! it's so completely random and irrelevant that you ask yourself why do they even allow people to blog.
But then after taking this course and participating in blogs (here and there lol), blogging can be somewhat interesteing. Aside from the morons who are either posting their myspace site a thousandtimes looking for publicity
ex. myspace.com/yourname,myspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yournamemyspace.com/yourname
Or the ones who have nothing (in my opinion ofcourse) significant to say about the topic, where else can you participate in a world wide debate about some of your favorite issues?? i dont care how many friends you have, and i mean flesh and bones not myspace or facebook lol, where else can you and hundred possibly thousands of people share their opinions on who is the best dunker in the NBA or should rhianna and crib brown get back together, or whats the best engine to put in a 1996 honda accord and so on, I think you get my drift.
Yes the interent is full of garbage and always will be, but isn't the library also? dont they have books in the library on how to build paper planes, something that no one cares about. Blogginh is almost the same concept.
There is one site that i go on a lot a lot a lot! It's called worldstarhiphop.com and it is basically a controlled video posting site where anything funny entertaining or plain ridiculaus can be posted on relating to hiphop and the hiphop society in general (no this doesn't mean just gangster rap music, hip hop is a way of life for those who do not know) and when i first used to watch it and read the comments it would be like no name rappers trying to promote thier myspace or people arguing with eachother about who's city is better and why their rapper will beat the shit out o anyone... in other words a lot of ignorant bull. But sometimes you actually get bloggers who kow whta they are talking about and can offer you vital, useful, or just entertaining information that you may never have known. And that right there ladies and gentlemen ins the beauty of blogging. When i can go onto Knickerbloggers and read stats from the NY game i missed last week AND randomly find out Nate robinson's stats from highschool that a blogger may have posted (fictional example for dramatic purposes only lol). That's what blogging offeres you.
The problem i have most with blogging i must say is the "guest" blogging. When you dont have to register to a site in order to blog, This bothers me becasue you cant control who is blogging ignorant crap or just promoting their myspace pages. Atleast if everyone had to sign in and ohers noticed that they are not blogging then we could file complaints on the user and eventualy get their blogging privlages revoked, but hey what can i do about it.
Also while blogging, i found it easier to just blog about things that you like, feel strongly about, or have on your mind. In the begginging of the semester we had to make a blog prospectus which i completely understant to help us start off and keep us on track. So, i decided to write about sports. Then a couple weeks into it, not sure if anyone noticed or cared, i realized that sports gets really boring to write about when you are not getting paid for it lol. If anyone wants updates on sports (scores stats results) then i doubt they would want to read my page, they could just click the ESPN link on my page. Slowly i started blogging about whatever i had on my mind when i sat down infront the computer.
Sometimes it consisted of sports, like my TO blog or AROD blog and sometimes of things in my life, like my car being crashed blog. I ahve to say i really prefere just wrting whatever comes to the mind. Their are only so many stories i could put my opinion onto when it comes to sports other than that it's usualy black and white and already taled about on one of the numerous sports sites...fownews, espn, sportscenter etc...
Blogging has actually became more fun then expected. Though i dont have interent at my apartment yet, wheneever i catch myself reading something online or watching highlights or checking scores or reading articles, i alwasy find myself clicking the comments link and wondering what others had to say about the issue!!
